SERIES OF THE MOMENT: Game of Thrones - HBO TV Series

I started to watch this majestic show by recommendation of friends, and for its popularity at world-wide level. Curiosity killed me and I began to see it without realizing how fast it progressed chapter by chapter, and with the eagerness to continue. Knowing this world, I began to read the books of this wonderful saga.

Game of thrones is a saga taken to the screen acclimated in ficional continents and medieval families. It focuses on fighting to obtain the control of the iron throne.

As the series progresses, legendary creatures and fierce towns add action and drama to the confrontation between the kingdoms to reach the throne.

Blood, sex and dynasty are the protagonists of each exciting chapter, which undoubtedly is considered one of the best shows of all time.

Like any successful series, it is often that its creators abuse of this success, extending the outcome of the story, extending up until 6 seasons. Only for that reason I give it 4 stars.

BOOK OF THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR: "It" by Stephen King

You can not imagine how difficult it is to take the decision to read a book of more than 1200 pages, but I did, and I will never regret having started this terrifying adventure.

This book talks about the confrontation between a group of teenagers and 'It', a clown entity that takes different forms and feeds of the fear of the children of a local town called Derry.

In the majority of the story, 'It' presents itself as a perverted circus clown, causing terror in children and killing people with no apparent explanation.

The group of children decide to confront him and plan to face it and liquidate it, which does not work. As a result of this they make a pact, in which they promise to end with 'It' when it re-appears, a fact that takes place in the adulthood of the group. This forces them to face their past to finally close that dark episode of their lives.

The modern film version of this scary novel is now in full running, which has expectant fans all over the world. I am anxious to see how they will be able to reflect in images how frightening it really

is. 5 stars.

FAIL OF THE YEAR: Reading BEAUTIFUL DISASTER by JAMIE MCGUIRE

This is a romantic novel that had a lot of popularity among teenagers, confirming its adaptation to the cinema. I read it a weekend that I went to the countryside with my family. Among those, there was my little cousin of 13 years old who took this book to read. I wanted to read something so she lended this to me. I couldn't be mean towards her so I just read it.

It tells the story of Abby Abernathy, an 18-year-old girl who starts a new life in a new city, trying to escape from her dark past. Stravels from her hometown, Wichita, with her only and best friend, America, believing that moving will change the terrible memories. There, she meets Travis Maddox, also known as "Mad Dog" for participating in fights: A tall guy, with tattoos, law student, sexy. He is the type of guy who brings sighing to all the girls of the college. He has the reputation of a bad boy, just the kind of person Abby is trying to avoid. When Travis meets Abby, he immediately notices that he is not like the other girls. He approaches her trying to get to know her, but he gets a surprise when he is rejected. He used his charming abilities to continue talking to her and she starts a bet that begings with this Wonderful disaster. But, actually that is exactly what this novel is: a 'disaster', as it turns out to be a teenage cliché without any interesting foundation. Which brings me to give it 1 star. A Beautiful Disaster!

MUSIC OF THE MOMENT: DEPECHE MODE – ELECTRONIC MUSIC

This band is one of those that are popular and good at the same it, and that goes through  generation to generation as a precious treasure.

A group of English men formed a band of electronic music in the year 1980. Led by David Gahan, voice, Depeche Mode has earned the nickname of 'the parents of electronic rock', being important precursors of the use of synthesizer as instrument, as well as the realization of music videos.

Among their many musical influences there are high level artists such as David Bowie, Pet Shop Boys, and more. His great career is highlighted by great hits of all time like 'Enjoy the silence' and 'Personal Jesus', that continue to sound on the radio, as well as new albums that have been as popular as in their beginnings.

Honestly, this is a band that does not go out of style. It re-inventes itself every time and surprises you with excellent material. Watching them play live would be one of my dreams come true. Obviously, 5 stars.

SERIES OF THE MONTH: Narcos - Netflix Series

Narcos is an original netflix series that managed to captivate me not only for the background of the story, but for the fascinating performances, striking localities and the crude reality of drug trafficking that emerged in the Colombia of the 1980s.

Starring the Brazilian actor Wagner Moura in the skin of the main character, Pablo Escobar, this drama portrays the fierce struggle of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Colombian authorities against the Medellin drug cartel, The most lucrative and relentless organization in modern criminal history.

Narcos describes from multiple points of view - police, political, judicial and personal - the rise of cocaine trafficking and the bloody iron arm at the service of drug traffickers who control the market with violence and ingenuity.

If you are a fan of police action, this tv show should consider it on your list. I give it 4 stars.

FAVORITES OF ALL TIMES: The Wizard of Oz Movie

The Wizard of Oz is a fantastic American musical film released in 1939. It is in many ways an exemplary film for children, but its final message can be interpreted by both adults and children.

The film shows the story of a young woman being dragged by a tornado in Kansas state and left in a fantastic land where a scarecrow is spoken, a cowardly lion, a tin man, characters who are appearing on the road helping her To find their way home. However, along the way, there are evil witches trying to hinder Dorothy's arrival at her destination, as well as a good witch who will guide her to her goal: to return home.

For children, youth, adults and older adults is a family musical that transports you to an interesting world of fantasy, with an innocence that is worth feeling.

5 stars.
