SERIES OF THE MOMENT: Mr. Robot

Recently, I joined the huge group of series and Netflix lovers out there. Even though this is not a Netflix series, a lot of people is deeply hooked with this one. AND even though you can't comfortably find it in Netflix, as I said, you can see it online, with subtitles, HD and with no lagging. Now, let's talk about the series itself, which, for your information, has only 2 seasons. Season 3 is on the making. 
The story revolves around a young computer programmer called Elliot, who works for a cyber-security firm. Elliot is recruited by an underground hacker group run by a man known only as Mr. Robot, to bring down big corporations, including ones his company is hired to protect. On top of this, Elliot, the main actor, has serious social issues and mental breakdowns. He's antisocial and paranoic about political corruption and humanity. 
If you already got interested about this series, I won't tell you anymore about it, because that should be enough. Computers, hackers, conspiracy, politicians, sex, drugs, alcohol, social anxiety, truth, etc. That's all you need to know. 
I have only seen the first season, but I'm looking forward to seeing the second one, I just haven't had the time. 
I give the first season of Mr. Robot: 5 STARS!! 

BOOK OF THE WEEK: THE SEED OF THE DEVIL – IRA LEVIN

Notice how I put emphasis in the title. All written in capital letters. Keep on reading and you will find out why. 

"The seed of the devil" or also called "Rosemary’s baby" in its cinematographic version, found me without even looking for it. In a walk through those typical "used books" stores, I immersed myself in the search of something interesting and terrifying and I came across a pleasant surprise.

Rosemary is a young housewife married to a theater actor. The couple is searching for a new home and they  find an department that fascinates them. But what they didn't know is that it hid a dark reputation. Both begin a friendship with an unconventional old couple of neighbors. They had strange attitudes that madee Rosemary very uncomfortable. She wants to get pregnant really bad, while Guy, her husband, gets an important role that would boost his career to stardom.

The night Rosemary gets pregnant she has a strange dream of a satanic ritual performed by her neighbors, Guy and others. The worst thing about this is that the dream was not far from reality 

Conclusion? Classic, that any horror fan should have in his collection. I definitely give it 5 stars.

SERIES OF THE MOMENT: Game of Thrones - HBO TV Series

I started to watch this majestic show by recommendation of friends, and for its popularity at world-wide level. Curiosity killed me and I began to see it without realizing how fast it progressed chapter by chapter, and with the eagerness to continue. Knowing this world, I began to read the books of this wonderful saga.

Game of thrones is a saga taken to the screen acclimated in ficional continents and medieval families. It focuses on fighting to obtain the control of the iron throne.

As the series progresses, legendary creatures and fierce towns add action and drama to the confrontation between the kingdoms to reach the throne.

Blood, sex and dynasty are the protagonists of each exciting chapter, which undoubtedly is considered one of the best shows of all time.

Like any successful series, it is often that its creators abuse of this success, extending the outcome of the story, extending up until 6 seasons. Only for that reason I give it 4 stars.

BOOK OF THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR: "It" by Stephen King

You can not imagine how difficult it is to take the decision to read a book of more than 1200 pages, but I did, and I will never regret having started this terrifying adventure.

This book talks about the confrontation between a group of teenagers and 'It', a clown entity that takes different forms and feeds of the fear of the children of a local town called Derry.

In the majority of the story, 'It' presents itself as a perverted circus clown, causing terror in children and killing people with no apparent explanation.

The group of children decide to confront him and plan to face it and liquidate it, which does not work. As a result of this they make a pact, in which they promise to end with 'It' when it re-appears, a fact that takes place in the adulthood of the group. This forces them to face their past to finally close that dark episode of their lives.

The modern film version of this scary novel is now in full running, which has expectant fans all over the world. I am anxious to see how they will be able to reflect in images how frightening it really

is. 5 stars.

FAIL OF THE YEAR: Reading BEAUTIFUL DISASTER by JAMIE MCGUIRE

This is a romantic novel that had a lot of popularity among teenagers, confirming its adaptation to the cinema. I read it a weekend that I went to the countryside with my family. Among those, there was my little cousin of 13 years old who took this book to read. I wanted to read something so she lended this to me. I couldn't be mean towards her so I just read it.

It tells the story of Abby Abernathy, an 18-year-old girl who starts a new life in a new city, trying to escape from her dark past. Stravels from her hometown, Wichita, with her only and best friend, America, believing that moving will change the terrible memories. There, she meets Travis Maddox, also known as "Mad Dog" for participating in fights: A tall guy, with tattoos, law student, sexy. He is the type of guy who brings sighing to all the girls of the college. He has the reputation of a bad boy, just the kind of person Abby is trying to avoid. When Travis meets Abby, he immediately notices that he is not like the other girls. He approaches her trying to get to know her, but he gets a surprise when he is rejected. He used his charming abilities to continue talking to her and she starts a bet that begings with this Wonderful disaster. But, actually that is exactly what this novel is: a 'disaster', as it turns out to be a teenage cliché without any interesting foundation. Which brings me to give it 1 star. A Beautiful Disaster!

MUSIC OF THE MOMENT: DEPECHE MODE – ELECTRONIC MUSIC

This band is one of those that are popular and good at the same it, and that goes through  generation to generation as a precious treasure.

A group of English men formed a band of electronic music in the year 1980. Led by David Gahan, voice, Depeche Mode has earned the nickname of 'the parents of electronic rock', being important precursors of the use of synthesizer as instrument, as well as the realization of music videos.

Among their many musical influences there are high level artists such as David Bowie, Pet Shop Boys, and more. His great career is highlighted by great hits of all time like 'Enjoy the silence' and 'Personal Jesus', that continue to sound on the radio, as well as new albums that have been as popular as in their beginnings.

Honestly, this is a band that does not go out of style. It re-inventes itself every time and surprises you with excellent material. Watching them play live would be one of my dreams come true. Obviously, 5 stars.

FAVORITE MOVIES OF ALL TIMES : THE EXORCIST – HORROR MOVIE

It is common knowledge that the horror genre is one of the most popular among the audiences, especially the old horror films, since the actual horror movies shows fear that even generates laughter.

Its release in the 70's caused an overwhelming acceptance by the public and also critics, who ended up considering it as one of the best films in history of its kind.

The tape recounts the diabolical possession of Regan MacNeil, a twelve-year-old girl who led a normal life, but starts playing with a table of spiritism ("OUIJA"). She gets in touch with a demon, who ends up owning her, pulling her off of her childhood and leading her to suffer fierce demonic attacks that endanger her life and her family’s.

Her mother, a famous actress, takes her to numerous doctors, but she realizes that the solution is with the church. She contacts a priest who decides to practice

an exorcism to free Regan from the demon that torments her .

Fan of horror? You must watch it. 5 stars.
